Real wealth can only be measured in the few things that actually matter, namely consumable natural resources. As far as those go, America's FIAT currency still buys the lions share of it.
American debt doesn't seem to matter all that much, as the entire world is still on their knees trying to blow America for the chance to get a little piece of what we have. So, hate America all you want, but your facts are simply wrong. American buying power is as strong as ever.

As for waiting for America to die off, I would not be so eager. Do you really think the American people are ones to go quietly into that goodnight? When America goes down we are taking the whole world with us in a fiery orgy of destruction.
I don't hate but the ignorance and greed will not last much longer when China says enough is enough cause they own and manufacture the westernized way of life. Americans/ca are in debt to China and America cannot even afford to pay off the annual accrued interest on the principle debt they owe to China. It's all a sham a temporary condition and the people whom buy into the propaganda/illusion are the ones whom will be in for the biggest rude awakening but don't worry there's lots of nice Canadians like me that will help you out and the people will rise above this shit when we learn to work as one.

*Laughs...
Give us a quality product at a good price and we'll buy it. We don't care if it's EA or Valve. Jealousy is such a funny tune when whistled.

Steam sales get people to buy games they otherwise would not have purchased. I'm not just referring to the $5 sales, it's the $14.99 or even $24.99 sales on games that are only a few months that are often hard to pass up.

I'm sure that is the case for some people, but I rarely buy games that are more than $10. Don't get me wrong, I do buy full priced games from time to time, but the market is saturated with games. What cheapens intellectual property is that there is so much of it available for use.

"we did a tremendous amount of foundation work"....yet its still not as good as Steam.
Many things depreciate, digital media is no exception.

When steam has "good" stuff that's like $5-10 ... I buy it without a second thought.

I think the amount I spend per month on games has gone up significantly because of this ... otherwise ... I used to just buy a few games per year ....

Thanks to Steam, I have a back log of games that I bought and have not even launched. The only game I have for Origin--Battlefield 3, because it was required to play the game. EA, you're not doing it right.

I never buy a game unless it's on sale. I've pre-ordered a few games because they came with discounts. I would only pre-order a game for full price if it's a multiplayer game. If it's an older game minimum discount should be at least 50%. Blizzard games I would probably pay full price because I know discounts might not come for a while. So for me what he's saying is partially true. Regular price is inflated even something cheap like SPAZ. I know it'll be on sale so I'd rather save my $2.50.

On the other hand I know there's a lot of people that pick up multiple new releases every week at full price.

I don't know if any of you follow affiliate marketing but some AMers will create an ebook on a given subject. Promoting the book is the biggest thing but pricing it properly is very important. Too high and no one buys it. Too low and everyone buys it. Once you raise it back up people will wait for it to go low again.

The recettear team made a mistake of pricing their game too low during one of the Steam sales. They posted about it here: http://www.carpefulgur.com/drakblog/?p=9

I did not even try that game because of Origins and the fact that Military shooters are personally and quick frankly getting old to me but EA games can suck off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7S2o0-VeTg
