Steam question

Is it better to play with a disc? Will I lose any graphics, audio, speed, etc through Steam?

no CD check, but it still validates your steam account online, and even if you are in "offline" mode, it checks on your LAN to make sure that the other keys on the LAN are unique. but yes, from a non-piracy view, it will save time from having to load the cd, and do the stupid little checks.
