I bought Defense Grid, Foreign Legion: Buckets of Blood, and Mirror's Edge. So far the only one I've tried is Foreign Legion and it's pretty neat, kinda like a 3d version of a 3rd person shooter flash game.

DAMN!
I had forgotten Dark Forces was about gameplay and not graphics. It looks like shit on a 22 inch monitor. BUT, it was pretty fun. I also forgot it had originally been keyboard based. Back then people werent using mice for shooters. Using the mouse this time was a bit of a hassle.

They should have made a special Win32 executable like they did for Duke 3D, instead of using DOSBox.

Picked up Indigo Prophecy. I started that game back in the day (it's where I first heard Theory of a Deadman), but never finished it.

How is Killing Floor? Looks interesting, wish there was a demo.

I've already bought Witcher, Defense Grid, Stalker CS

Thinking about Indigo Prophecy but not sure if I will have enough

I'm mostly a strategy game freak(both turn based like Heroes/Shogun/Civilization and RTS like Starcraft/Warcraft), so here goes.

Lothar's possible hit list.
1.) Rome: Total War Gold Edition.
Are all "Total War" game pretty much the same thing, just in a different time setting? I already have Shogun: Total War and Mongoul Invasion that I got as a Christmas present about 6 years ago. Are the Total War games a "once you've played one, you've played them all" kind of thing? I enjoyed Shogun with the killing of Generals with ninjas, the geisha cut scenes and all.

2.) Unreal Deal Pack
Is this worth it? I got Unreal Anthology(UT '99, UT2004, Unreal I and Unreal II) for $2 at Gamestop 3 months ago. So basically it would be like I'm paying $12 for Unreal 3. Is it worth it? I still haven't seen a seen a better Unreal FPS game than UT '99 and I've played them all except UT3. Are the UT3 servers still empty like people in this forum have been saying they are? It seems the hype the game once had has died down. Almost everything else being released today seems to focus on eye candy at the expense of gameplay which is why UT '99 is still my FPS of choice today. UT2004 comes a close second.

3.) Companies of Heroes pack.
I'm confused about this game. Everywhere says it's strategy but the pictures I see almost everywhere makes it look like an FPS/action game or something. Is this a Rainbow Six like tactical game? Is this a Battlefield type game? What type of game is it? Any popular examples of what other game this is close to would be appreciated.

4.) Star Wars: Jedi Knight Collection
I have the Jedi Outcast disk. Excellent game. I've never tried any of the others in the collection and I'm not sure I'd even have the time to. Was Jedi Academy the last game in the series? Is it worth it that bad?

5.) Freedom Force pack.
I've never played this but I've been heard good reviews about the game years ago. I will get this.

6.) Civilization IV Complete Edition.
I missed the $20 deal on this a month ago. I will get this. I've played a lot of the original using my best friends disk and the game was very addictive. I've never tried any of the expansions however.

7.) Defense Grid.
For $2.49, I have nothing to lose. I find tower defense games to be interesting, but I only play them like once or twice a month or so. I will get this.

8.) Mirror's edge.
Since everyone here seems to be jumping up and down recommending this I guess I have no choice but to get it, but I have to say from the Steam pictures which 95% just shows pictures of buildings it doesn't look to intriguing. I know I could read a detailed analysis on IGN and others but it's a bit late and I probably won't have the time until later on next week. Just hoping to get people's opinion that's all.

9.) Tropico 3.
Never played anything in the series but it objectives/story line sounds interesting. At the $20 price, I think it's worth a shot. Games #5, 6, 8 and 9 listed above take higher priority first before this however so I may still not end up getting this if I feel like I won't have enough time to play/enjoy the game.

I like Killing Floor a lot, I'm impressed by how something so simple doesn't get boring. Depending on your team and difficulty, it can be a really intense struggle to get through the levels or you can go nuts with a chainsaw and pwn everything. Basically, if you like killing monsters it'll be worth $10.

I think there's a counter on the sale webpage that is counting down to the next set of games that's going on sale.

@STALKER: Clear Sky
Oops, this is embarrassing. Due to high demand we have temporarily run out of unique keys for this title. You may, by all means, purchase at the awesome sale price but may not be able to play until we receive more unique product keys. It shouldn't take too long, we have sent armed guards to the publisher's house to get them out of bed, drive them to their secret lair and produce more keys.

AT Effect at its finest!

It's basically like survival mode in L4D, except it doesn't suck. You have up to 6 ppl in your team and you just fight off wave after wave of zombies and after the 10th wave you fight a boss.

Just added ten new games to the backlog but at those prices it will be worth it if I only play a few of them.

Just so you know, the current deals end at noon today. And I highly recommend everyone plays Dark Forces if they never have. It changed shooters from mindless violence to pretty darn intelligent fun. It was the inspiration for making Duke 3D a little more complex.

Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were more evolutionary than revolutionary, but still assloads of fun. Its like Dark Forces in accelerated 3D and with better controls & puzzles.

Okay, I have now officially purchased too many games. As I Steam has been downloading The Witcher for the last 24 hours (94% done), I was searching through my game files and noticed, then realized - Crap! I bought The Witcher over Thanksgiving from D2D!

Nothing like waiting on a game to go on sale, then buying it twice - essentially paying the same amount as when it's not on sale. I'm a moron.

I received a Guest Pass for it, it lasted three days and I played it for two days, I liked it overall. But I thought that it had much more in common with the Invasion mode of Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 than with the Survival mode of L4D, although both are similar.
