So, has anyone messed around with it much since it has been out a little bit now?

There are some cool looking games on there that I do hope make it.
I think the concept is interesting and Valve is working on refining it to make it better which it needs still.

It is interesting though, devs are now using all types of ways to get their game voted for now. Latest one is Postal 2, if you post on a forum/facebook/etc place first about it there and give them a link to it you will get a free copy of the game if it gets accepted. So take that as me being the first to post here so I can score a free copy :p http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93000640

McPixel is the first game to go live on Steam from the program so far too and they are suppose to announce the next batch of games that were approved.

I browse through it here and there when I'm not doing anything else and watch videos, sure there is junk, but there seems to be some nice looking stuff on there as well.

I don't really understand steams green light, can someone please educate me?

Basically, a dev puts their game up on greenlight and the community votes for it if they want it to be on Steam. When the game gets enough votes, it is approved and can be put on Steam to sell then.

There have been a lot of games that got rejected from Steam for whatever the reasons were before and people wanted the game on Steam. Steam doesn't have have the manpower to go about to decide for every game that gets submitted to them if it should go on Steam or not so they created greenlight.

I'm thinking of making and submitting an indie barfing game.

You have to pay them like $100 now to get on there. Someone made like a game about boobs or something and it got voted up like crazy. Plus I'm sure there were other bogus games.

I recommend you guys check out project zomboid, which was greenlit. It's a really good zombie type game with crafting. Lots of interesting stuff happens in it. I was playing it once and I went downstairs to cook a pot of soup. My wife in the game called me up or I went to check up on her and the soup started burning. The house started burning too. Kind of neat. There's a demo on their page:

Interface is so horrific and slow that it's impossible to check out games and up/down vote them as appropriate.

Otherwise I'd be in there clicking like mad, voting for awesomeness.
