I'm confused...mostly because i'm an idiot.

Are they saying if you pre-order Fallout Vegas you can choose a free game from that pack?

I've never pre-ordered from Steam. Do they charge your credit card right away or when the game is released?

For the first time, I recommend just downloading cosmetic mods like high res textures and beauty packages.

Yeah Morrowind is nice in that the UI is pretty darn good and you wont likely need any mods.

My favorite Mod for Morrowind is Private Mobile Base. Its a HUGE house you purchase in parts (and they are all expensive). And it floats above cities. You can teleport the base itself to most cities, or you can use a teleporter inside the base to put YOURSELF almost anywhere in the world. Its has every type of room you can think of, including a monster fighting room (you generate your own practice creatures) a pool, a massive storage room with all the types of chests you could want (big, medium, little) to keep easy track of your crap. An alchemy room with storage for every incredient, but no sorter, also room for each and every type of potion. Several bedrooms, trophy room. The aforementioned teleporter room. A couple of misc things I cant recall, and even a deck on top for looking out over the world.
I have no yet found anything that quite compares in an Oblivion Mod.

ALSO: As has been pointed out, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/categories.php is the best place to look for most mods for both games. I highly recommend you join, because it lets you browse files easier and see pics and stuff.

Ditto for: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/categories.php

No. Pre-ordering New Vegas gets you the 'Caravan Pack', whatever that is. They're just offering the GOTY version of the past games as a promo related to New Vegas ('Prepare for the Future, Play the Past").

I've never done pre-order with Steam either but I think it's very unlikely they charge you right away before the game is even available.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks.

Ok, I'm planning on buying Oblivion. I will only play through it once probably, and I want all the good mods. I loved Half life's cinematic mod. Can someone post a list of all the mods I should have? I know dead end posted a list, but can you install all of them and it works and be cohesive?
EDIT I have a 275 GTX 8GB ram Q6600@3ghz so I want to use it.

I am getting the Oblivian one. Thinking about Morrowind, but haven't decided yet.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't usually use steam, and never would have known about this sale if op hadn't posted.

Truthfully, if you start with Oblivion its unlikely you would ever wanna play Morrowind. While Morrowind has slightly better gameplay its physics are a joke, and running around in the less pretty world might be annoying if you already played Oblivion.

Aye, tis true! I played Oblivion first and I HATED the hell out of Morrowind!

I think they do charge you right away actually. IIRC, the game will show up in your games list and it will pre-load, but you obviously won't be able to play it until it is unlocked on the release date.

Nice. I've actually played through Morrowind and Oblivion before and sold them years ago. At this price, though, it's worth it to pick them up to replay. Maybe give some of the Oblivion mods a shot, I bought and played through Oblivion at launch and there weren't many around back then.

How's Fallout 3? Worth $25?

I have only played through Oblivion once, and I haven't even really finished it yet. I have a little over 350 hours into it right now, and still have a few missions I want to finish. I used the unofficial patches for both vanilla and shivering isles, along with a few other minor mods.

Uhhh.... So wait.. Let me get this straight... You cant apply mods to Steam games? I just tried installing mods into Morrowind and I don't see any way of doing so.. The game files are in some weird format and I don't have access to actual game folder...

Uhm, pretty sure its like C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/(your username)

or C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Common

I have played and beat (although not completed, so many side-quests) Oblivion, but I'm really tempted to pick this up for the expansions.

Morrowind is a must for me. I've wanted that game since I first played Oblivion. I know that a few have said it's hard to enjoy if you play Oblivion first, but for $5 I figure if I only play if for an hour I got my money's worth!

Thanks OP!
