I am curious, if you buy these, do you also get the windows version, or is the linux & window stuff separate?

It looks like you get all platforms. Just to test it I added FTL to my cart, and in the cart, it shows the game followed by the STEAMPLAY logo and then the windows, mac, and linux logos. Can't be 100% positive until I make a purchase (tonight probably), but it looks like the answer to your question is "yes, you also get the windows version."

I installed Steam on Linux the other day and my Linux compatible games that I had purchased on Windows appeared (Bastion, CS: Source, FTL, Team Fortress 2 Beta, World of Goo). Played FTL already, trying Bastion next.

Yep. Put your old parts to use! This weekend I configured one of my computers to dual boot OS X Mountain Lion and Linux Mint, each on a different second-gen SSD taken from my spare parts pile. I configured Mint to look like the Earthy Desktop. Now I'm buying a few of these Linux games to show support for Valve's efforts to get away from reliance on Microsoft.
