If you enjoy flight simulators and you haven't checked out the DCS series, then you really need to. I wager it's the most realistic flight sim out there.

If you already own A-10C Warthog on Steam, it will automatically be transferred to DCS World as DLC on your Steam account.

Which are best? I already have that Warthog (never played), but suspect the casual 'flaming cliffs' ones might be better, I don't want tedious detailed sims so much.

Think Far Cry deluxe is worth getting at $24.99?

I know, no point if I will play it in 2018.
I liked it about as little as anyone and I'd say it's a steal at $25. If you aren't going to play it, it'll only get cheaper - although there's something to be said for rewarding developers who do good work.

The Flaming Cliffs A-10 uses the advanced flight model with simplified avionics. So you will get A-10C flight dynamics with Lock-on/Flaming Cliffs avionics.

As far as "best", that is really up to you.

My favorites are the The Huey and the P-51. They are much less "tedious" due to being analog/ancient, but every button/switch/etc. is modeled like the A-10C and Blackshark modules.

Black Shark 1 & 2, Mustang, and Warthog are the ultra detailed sims. The Lock On games are much more accessible and easy to get in and out of.

It's a shame that game got such bad reviews.

I loved Rune and a good smash-em-up third person viking game would really hit the spot.

The first thing I do when I open Steam is scroll through the specials tab.

FYI, it was mentioned Wizardry 6 and 7 were bundles on gog.com for $5.99.

They are now also on steam for a dollar less, $4.99. Wizardy 8 is $9.99.

Wow. Thanks for the heads up... $4.99 for Wizardry 6 and 7 together sounds good to me.

What if you don't like racing games ?

Depends on what you mean by "racing games". On one end of the spectrum are games like Forza/GT, the simulation type games. Of course, Sonic is completely at the opposite end of the spectrum, it doesn't try to be a simulator at all, it's a pure arcade game with vehicles that transform betweens cars, boats and planes and have weapons. It's Sega's version of Mario Kart. There are also deathmatch and capture the flag modes.

If you don't like the simulation-style racing games, you might still like Sonic. If you don't like racing at all in any way, shape, or form, then you probably don't want this.
