I could never get into FarCry 2. Gave it to my nephew, he said it was OK. Nothing like the original which was great, and totally worth $2.50.

Far Cry 2 can be great if you are not be anal about killing everyone who shoots at you. Blow through Checkpoints or avoid them and it is a pretty solid game. Graphically it is quite awesome, Audio is very good, Weapons are very good, it is a complete open world with lots to explore, Story is weak but the original didn't have much of a Story either, and has some mini quests you can do while exploring. It is a bargain at this price.

You'll notice Windows 7 is not a supported OS. I think generally it will run, but you may encounter one of several issues.
The main one is related to playing ranked multi-player matches where the required Punkbuster not let you play.
Far cry 2 came out a few months before Windows 7, and F'n Ubisoft made no effort to make it work with 7.

It works fine in Win7.

Jumped on this one, looking forward to some LAN play. I always like the adventuring aspect of the PS3 version, but lost interest after a dozen hours or so.

im worried for KaOTiK...

The DD today is Ridge Racer: Unbounded. 50% off, $24.99.

I posted this in the gamedeals subreddit, and I'll post it again here:

I fucking love this game! I'm glad to see it on sale. Ridge Racer: Unbounded is an extremely fun, arcadey racing game that just released a few months ago, and received pretty much no attention whatsoever. So little attention in fact that I believe it resulted in poor sales, and the multiplayer is nearly dead because of it.

Which is a shame. Keep in mind this is not a usual "Ridge Racer" game; it's more like a Flatout game in disguise. Namco Bandai for whatever reason decided license out the Ridge Racer name to Bugbear. I guess it's so they could sell more copies of the game based on IP, seeing it has little resemblance to Ridge Racer at all.

If anything, the game is a mixture of Flatout, Burnout, and Trackmania all in one. The game features semi-destructible environments, it encourages you to ram into or "frag" your opponents, it has some of the best crash physics of any racing game I've seen, and it has a map editor where you can create your own stunt tracks.

Unfortunately RR:U does have a bit of consolitis in that there are almost no graphics settings. Despite this though, the game is still looks fantastic. And the destructable envrionments and slow-motion crash cams are absolutely phenomenal... far better than that "Flatout 3" abortion that was released by a different studio a while ago.

I'll definitely be hopping into multiplayer tonight. Hopefully I'll see some of you there.

I normally wouldn't look too hard at this for $25, not a fan of racing games, but loved Burnout Paradise on the PS3. Hm.

Well, don't expect an open world like Burnout Paradise has. The car handling is also quite a bit different.

Everything else in RR:U trumps Burnout IMO. Then again I wasn't really a fan of Burnout Paradise.

Chaser is only $1.25, and the Gamespot review is pretty positive.

All I have to hear is "long, intriguing story" and "fun gunplay" and I'm in. I'll spend way more than that driving to work today.

I hear it was ok. I picked it up for around the same price before. Haven't played it yet but for this price, even if you play it for just 10 mins you would have gotten your money out of it heh

its a good way of seeing it. 2 dollars or some cookies... at least the game will last longer and will not make you fat (?)

It's a mildly interesting stealth game. The closest thing I can compare it to is Splinter Cell; but rather than playing a high-tech black ops NSA agent, you slip into the role of a female British spy circa WWII, going behind enemy lines to stop the Nazi War effort.

Not the best stealth game I've ever played, but it's still pretty decent and it has some interesting gameplay mechanics. The game is relatively new so the graphics are pretty good, and it has native Xbox 360 gamepad support. If you're a fan of stealth at all then this will scratch the itch quite nicely. It's definitely worth $1.69.
