Wow. I've been meaning to buy the old Fallout games.

Question is, are they compatible with Win7?

No clue, I bought them on GOG when they were on sale there. I'd suggest looking at the Steam forums, wouldn't be surprised if others have asked the same question there.

Based on the comments I'm seeing, it looks like they're not quite gonna work properly on Win 7 64-bit. Some tweaking is needed in order to play them correctly.

Valve really needs to put more effort into making older games compatible with newer systems. Either do that, or stop selling the games altogether. It bothers me a little that they sell so many old games which need to be tweaked in order to actually work.

Ah well. I'll buy them from GOG instead, where at least I know they'll work out of the box.

I had no issues running the Gog version on window 64 (I also had no issues using the widescreen mod). Hum. Vaguely I also think they were cheaper (when on sale). Then again; I could never quite finish the game - it always seems to have lost the charm for some reason (for me).

I already own them all (don't like tactics) and was thinking of getting them on Steam for convenience and compatibility, but hearing they don't run well on Win 64, cancels that.
