Steam "company" packs question...

Once you buy one of these all-inclusive packs on steam, do they give you new releases for free? I'm guessing no, but I have to ask.

LOL I can't believe you seriously asked.

Well it does make sense... seeing as they have company packs - people buy them, then two weeks later they release a new title, add the game to the company pack for the same price... I'm surprised people don't get pissed about that.

I would never expect them to.

If I buy The Harry Potter Compilation DVD pack at Target, I don't go back to the store when the next one comes out expecting them to give it to me for free.

Has that actually happened yet with a major new release? (As opposed to some $10 DLC or cheap game)

Left 4 Dead seems to be a pretty major Valve release...

Hmm, the Valve store has both Valve Complete and L4D released in November 2008.

Does anyone remember the history? Did they sell it without L4D for a week then add L4D after that? Did they then add L4D to existing licenses or not?

But in general: no, I wouldn't expect that if I buy something like Id complete now that I'd get Doom IV in 2011 or Rage (?) whenever it's released.
