Steam Christmas Sale 2015

Not saying I don't believe you but I can't believe this

**edit** unless the $25 represents countless hours grinding steam holiday sale mini games or buying and selling cards for a one or two penny profit each. All of these actions aren't fun. Otherwise I call shenanigans.

I got motivated (amazing what a couple cups of coffee will do).

They have Crypt of the Necrodancer for five bucks, which is a fun Zelda-style dancing game with a great soundtrack:

Plenty of USB (or adaptable) DDR pads on Amazon & eBay.

Only game I've bought so far is Alien:Isolation, as a massive Alien fan this game is amazing and very terrifying, best stealth horror game I've ever played.

Picked up Magicka 2. Considered Homeworld but I got StarCraft2 so I won't have time until the summer anyway.

 For those with the patience, it is such an amazing game.

I bought and have been playing Ori and the Blind Forest. Firstly - the graphics on this game are breathtaking and quite detailed similar to Trine1/2. It is also quite a fun metroidvania style game. Highly recommended.

yeah that one is a good one, as you said Trine 1 and 2 were awesome, Mark of the Ninja is also another side scroll that was well done.

I really wanted that Apotheon to be good, but man the controls are just so sloppy.

Tried searching, but what is there to do with the cards this time? Haven't found anything about making the normal winter badge.

So for those of you who didn't know, apparently this is going on at the moment:

When Valve launched its annual Steam Winter Sale just before Christmas, it secretly introduced something alongside it: an alternate reality game, which some customers-turned-amateur detectives are just now taking a crack at.

These more dedicated members of the Steam community have taken up residence in a subreddit called Steam Sale Detectives, in which they log their daily findings and chart their progress within the game. The first of the group's daily recaps helpfully gathers all of the ARG's uncovered clues.

If you know how to get the 3 cards from the game queue a day then just load your badge collection like you always do and when you get them all use them to get the badge.

There are multiple levels like always with them so use them up or just sell them as they will all vanish on the 4th as happens with event cards.

I have found pretty much nothing during these last Steam "sales" that I wanted.
Either they were too much $$$, or it just is a PITA trying to find something of value from all the stuff they list.
The one thing I was looking at, price went up during the "sale", then the discount took it back to the price it was before the sale. I call that BS.

Thanks. I don't really care about this type of thing but I did it anyways 😉. I did have to log into the community after entering the code though despite being logged into Steam. The place to enter the code was in a little pop-up box in IE.

Edit: If we sell any item in the marketplace how long do we have to spend the money? I have no idea how this stuff works :\ Also, when is the best time to sell the cards we are acquiring during the sale?

You can craft a badge, but only from your "Badges" page (if you have a full set). If you look at Holiday Sale 2015 Trading Cards in your Steam Inventory, the "View badge Progress" button is missing from these cards.

What are everyone's thoughts on Pillars of Eternity for ~$20?

I'm also considering getting Icewind Dale Enhanced as well.
I've recently played through BG1 EE and currently BG2 EE and am loving it, and would love an RPG in the same style and atmosphere.

Both worth it for less than $35?

re how long - the money gets added to your steam wallet. It just sits there as long as the money you put into the account.

as to when to sell, sell when you want. the market sets the price so set a low value to sell fast.

Though as with some previous event cards, they did not vanish, they just changed to blank and did not work for creating badges any more. Come the next event and they start working again (some times).

anyone else getting sick of how the "explore" system works at times? Just had one "the game is in your discovery queue because it has positive user reviews.". I check, "User Reviews: Positive (9 reviews).

seriously? how is this even meant to be displaying games I am interested in when it does not even try to pretend a game is similar to something I have already purchased.

I haven't played PoE but kickstarted it and have hear nothing but good, and think if you liked the BG enhanced you should like ID enhanced also.
