Steam availability 10, 15 years from now?

Has valve made any commitments to steam availablity down the road? I occasionally like to go back and play old games for nostalgic sake (I just installed and played through the original warcraft 4 weeks ago, ah the memories) but I'm concerned about half life 2 requirments to be unlocked through steam. Does the user license provide some kind of statement from valve as to how long they will support installation of half life 2?
 
I'd imagine that if they were going to stop supporting steam methods would be explored in order to circumvent the piracy protection.
