For some reason the VoIP part works perfectly, but I can barely browse the web. Seems like the Ethernet port may have died. Arrgh.

Stupid neighbors and their slow ass dsl.

No open WiFi networks around me. Tons of ATT DSL users, and ATT DSL modem/routers have some form of encryption enabled by default.

Did you try the standard unplug modem for at least a minute?

Nah, I dunno wtf. Modem worked great for 4 years straight. The telephone part works, but the Internet is super slow -- probably twice as slow as a 56k modem.

I changed routers, reran the cable and restarted the modem a few times...and nothing. I can't help but laugh at the whole thing though; when I was a cable technician I had to fix people's internet problems at their home. hahaha, it sucks to be on the other end of it.

did you change the modem?? I have cablevision too and one time it hovered around dial-up speeds for a few days after trying to do everything i can do.. exchanged the modem, and speeds went back to 15mb 🙂

Nah, too lazy to go to Cablevision today. I might leave it until Monday though. Slow internet is not killing me too much. As long as the phone line is stable, it isn't too bad.

I guess it was just the modem's time.
