If I were a taxpayer in San Bernadoo I'd demand it.

If I lived there I'd rather see the department taken to task over it. Once this hush money is paid out all those internal investigations and such where "serious criminal charges are possible" will be pushed aside, and nothing will change.

Make for a pretty nice ride if you weren't responsible for shoveling its shit from the street.

How much does a horse go for?

Is it greater/less than the limit for grand theft?

Depends on the kinda horse you are looking for.

Pasture pet, use for trail riding. Dont care about breed, questionable training. Anywhere from free-$1000
Semi good quality horse. Might have poor gaits, bad habits, but ok breeding, still questionable training. free-$2500
Quality bred, and trained horse $5000 easy.
It just goes up from there for exotic breeds or show horse.

All of my horses were free, but they were are either old, have medical issues, lacked training or were unsuitable for their former jobs.

From what I've seen, those cops didn't hurt the guy too horribly, considering how it looked on video. I think all those fatasses were too winded to put much behind those punches and kicks.

According to the news stories, the settlement was proposed by the county and was (supposedly) unexpected by Pusok's lawyers, given that no charges have been filed yet against any of the police officers. It's purely a result of the video.

If you think about that, and the fact that it's a substantial sum of money, you grab it. Sign whatever papers you need to and cash out. Any halfway sensible person (we can at least assume his lawyers are halfway sensible) who's up $650k at the blackjack table doesn't see whether he can push that to a million when there's also a chance of going bust.

"Take the money, Francis. Take the money, Francis. Take the money, Francis."

That only settles the civil case, well potential case since he didn't and won't file one now.

Criminal charges are another matter and should be perused.
