I think we're there. It's past time to raise officer tactical awareness of news choppers.

No, not really. Currently it's still being billed as white:black (or perhaps white😛oor), when in reality it's police (power):citizen.

Sure, there are certainly racial issues, of that I have no doubt. But if the cause was race, this type of thing wouldn't happen to non-blacks, or whites depending on your view of the racial issues.

This. Cops hate and prey on everyone some just more than other individuals.

And I'm fairly certain the answer to why "some more than others" is likely racial, but that doesn't address the "cops hate" part. One of the things the DoJ hit on was the excessive fines from police activity used to fund the city.

Cities were hit hard by the recession, like everyone else, but I think one of the ways they survived was increased "taxation" through fines/fees. When I heard them talking about how a simple traffic violation would turn into massive fines, then double up on the failure to appear, then the fees for trying to pay it back... Isn't that every city in the US? I don't think there's any major city where running a red light would be a $25-50 fine.

This puts pressure on the cops big time, stress cops really, really, really don't need. It creates a predator-prey mentality. Predators escalate violence, prey runs away.

Horse couldn't have been stolen because it didn't start walking back to its owner the second the guy was dismounted.

And if he wanted the guards to stop beating him he should've put his hands down.

Everyone in Tamriel knows this.

It's better than if he went to Vegas. He played a two-armed bandit, got badly beaten and hit the jackpot! He needs to go buy a lottery ticket right away.

It's too bad the cops won't have to pay for this, as usual.

Holy Hell. Just twelve days after it happened? That must be a new record. Yeah, I'd say taxpayers definitely got off easy. I hope the cops are all fired, though.

The board said the move would work to avoid any litigation expenses stemming from a possible lawsuit and settle all potential claims.
In approving the action, the county acknowledged no wrongdoing.

Said otherwise, they want to pay this guy to not sue them so they don't have to fire anyone important or pay millions in punitive damages.

Of course they do. But a settlement takes both sides to come to an agreement, and negotiating that in just twelve days is impressive.

If I were a taxpayer in San Bernadoo I'd demand it.
