step 1: Bought steak
step 2: put in freazer
step 3: took out of freezer and cooked one of two pieces.
step 4: put other back in the refrigerator but forgot to wrap up.
step 5: want to eat it tonight, its been sitting there for two days in the meat section of the fridge.....ok to eat?

It's fine, but it's probably absorbed some of the crappier odors in your fridge and the outside may be dried to an almost beef jerky consistency.

As long as you cook it to a proper temperature there won't be a risk of bacteria, but it might not taste great if you didn't wrap it, since it probably lost some moisture.

Most steaks are aged in the fridge for a week or more. As long as theres not a lot of moisture sitting on the meat it should be pretty good.

The aging allows the excess water time to leave the meat and concentrate the flavor. Its cool because all of the juices come from the breakdown of collagen in the meat that turns into gelatin.

I'd still eat it. Why not? It was just uncovered, but still in the fridge. Still good, just maybe not as good.
