Altoids or anything with a heavy mint flavor.

Bawlz or Caffeine tablets.

Splash water on face every now and then.

Here is a good tip from a nurse who feels your pain of working crazy shifts and getting my sleep hours FUBARed basically goto sleep but don't let yourself sleep for more than an hour. Half hour is actually ideal. This will give you a nice boost but still leave you tired later on. If you need to do it 2 or 3 times throughout today thats fine and it's much more natural than caffeine

Keep busy. You get bored and you'll immediately think sleep.

I'm in the same boat as you, I'm just trying to correct my screwed up sleep schedule. Well, that and I want to be up when the mail gets here so I can install the Accelero I have on the way to finally shut my Radeon X1900XT up.

5 Hour Energy is supposedly the real deal.

When I was working FedEx nights I would often have to fight sleep during the day, especially while driving. Caffeine never helps me stay awake, but physical activity did seem to make a difference. I also second the suggestion of taking a power nap. About 1/2 hour should do the trick. But, take the time you need to fall asleep into account, and set your alarm for 1 hour from now.

Sorry about your ankle.

I found light snacking all day keeps me from falling asleep, some reason, I stay away while Im eating, about 15-20 minutes after im done I start to get sleepy again, grab some chips or something do a little snacking, then start it all over again.

It works for me if I have to pull a all nighter, may want to try it and see if it works for you, key is though to light snack, not eat to get full, cus then you will get really tired. Just some chips or candy to chew on is all.

Exactly.

Or if you've got any strategy or simulation games for the PC, give them a go instead. Something like a first person shooter will require quick reaction times. I know that when I'm tired, my reaction time sucks worse than usual, so fast-paced games just tend to frustrate me.

And hey, there's always plenty of porn out there. I'll not mention the obvious pun about porn being able to keep things up all night. Oh wait....darn it.
