Hello , i been using my x1800xt pe with ATI's own drivers (6.6) but then the DNA dirvers cough my eye and im wondering if i should use them, im still debating because the latest DNA drivers are based on ATI 6.1 drivers, which is kinda outdated, so what you ppl say?

Can you say Warcats?

IMO the Warcats or any Tweaksrus driver is the best modified driver. Thats just IMO, but still a lot of people like them.

I haven't tried Warcats yet but are they stable and awesome and better than Omegadrivers :?

I thought they were, when I had my ATI card. I still use them in my older (9800XT) ATI machine.

I've heard the Warcats are great. I usta use tweakrus drivers back when I had a Nvidia card and they rocked then.
I havn't tried the Warcats yet, probably will on the 6.7's as 6.6's from ATI are working great for me for now.

Hmm, I wonder why these are less mentioned but for me, the best modified drivers (and one of the slowest to get released) are the DHzer0point drivers. They're fast and for me, most stable out of the modded drivers.

All modded drivers should be as stable as the original. Really, (at least on Nvidia) the only thing thats changed are a few (ok, more than a few) added lines to an inf file.

@OP
You should try out a few (make sure to use Driver Cleaner Pro when uninstalling) different modified drivers to see which one you like best. I recommend you try at least both the Omega and the Warcats since those seem to be the two best ones.

Yeah, one would think so but I'm not sure why it isn't for me. I mean for drivers, I always do the uninstall then reboot, safe mode, and driver cleaner. But for omega's, after some usage all the resolutions disappears and I'm left with only 1024 and below res. As for warcats, sometimes everything works fine but when I boot up my computer, my desktop is reverted to 640x480 and I'd have to change it back. Dhzeropoint's are the only ones that doesn't do it. Sides, according to reviews in the driverheaven forums, dhzeropoints and omegas are pretty much the fastest of the modded drivers.

man sry for no catching up with this thread anyways, last time i used 3rd party drivers, i noticed that they have a nasty habit, which is that they mess up my VIVO chip ID and then i cant install VIVO's drivers even when i try to install the ones from ATI, so im still devating if to use them or not.

I notice the same thing as the above guy.

Which of these drivers include the "Saturation" adjustment setting? I hear omega's do not

Tried installing the Warcats 6.6 and noticed the same thing on my X1900AIW. I don't know that I will necessarily be using VIVO at the moment, so it's not a big concern at the present. But, when I decide to hook up my TV to the card, we'll have to see...

Yes, but the big thread on the 6.7 Cats has made me decide to stay away from them. People have been reporting BF2 crashes and lower FPS in FEAR.

You ever hear of Your Mileage May Vary?

Doesn't seem like the mileage is varying very much, thanks. I'd rather not bother, because like I mentioned previously if you had read my post, was that VIVO is of little concern to me at the present, since I'm using this card for gaming and not the AIW functions.

My initial post was about VIVO being broken using 3rd party drivers, to which you replied with "ATI released 6.7 not long ago also."

So you were implying I should try the 6.7's to fix the VIVO issue, to which I replied I didn't need to because I won't be using it since this card is for gaming, and the 6.7 cats have some perf issues for some users. Making sense yet?

I'd use the Omega drivers, but I don't like em anymore. Omega has gotten too slow releasing his drivers, all the while other quality 3rd party modified drivers have been hitting the streets more consistently with more features and fixes.
