Stay away from Nero 5.5.10.50

I was trying to burn a 697MB file to a 700MB CD-R and Nero would refuse to do so. It claimed that there wasn't enough space available. WTF? I tried every setting possible. No good.

I then went back to Nero 5.5.10.5 (the original that came with my CD-RW drive) and everything went fine. I was able to burn up to 703MB without any problems.

I'm trying to locate the latest working build before 10.50 (I believe it was 10.47) wich also worked ok.

I experienced this with the 60015 that just came out also. Going back to the previous 60011 works normally.

I got the same message trying to burn an image file today in 6.0.0.1.5, I gave up trying and used Alcohol 120 which worked like a champ! What's going on Nero? I used 5.5 for a long time with no problems ...Six Sux!

Yes, but as Zucarita9000 says the same problem occurs with 5.5 so the latest of both are suck. I cannot say I am particularly impressed with 6 anyway and have considered going back to 5.5. I am sure they will work it out soon.

Well, I wrote to Nero's Tech support and they emailed me a patch for 5.5.10.50. I haven't tried it yet, but if anyone is interested in patching Nero and get rid of the problem, click here to download it.

Thanks for the link! 🙂

You're welcome. Nero's tech support emailed me yesterday and told me that the downloadable update currently posted on their website still has the bug. This patch should be up in a few days.

I faced this problem yesterday and I was so mad! I downloaded 5.5.10.54 and hope it works fine.... If it doesn't, I will have to go back to 5.5.10.42...... I'll let you know later 😉
