So your argument is that ALL the activity noted in the satellite photos is for a water pipeline . . .

Note the date on your link . . .
WASHINGTON, April 4, 2003 ? With the help of the Kuwaiti government, fresh water is flowing into coalition-held areas of southern Iraq, and food is on the way, the American officer in charge of these efforts said today.

Coalition forces are coordinating delivery of water from a pipeline the Kuwait government set up into southern Iraq to the port city of Umm Qasr and other areas further north, Army Col. David Blackledge, commander of 354th Civil Affairs Brigade, said.

Now take a gander . . .
Brandli retrieved another DMSP image he'd archived from May 3. He compared the two. The most recent photo showed a blazing corridor of light running the length of Kuwait, south to north, all the way to the Iraqi border. The image wasn't there on May 3.

I guess they are building a NEW water pipeline to Iraq. Why would a fresh water pipeline run the entire length of Kuwait from the Iraqi border down to the Persian Gulf? Unless of course, there's a desalination plant at the end.

A blazing corridor of light does not a pipeline make.

Did you bother reading any of the article? You don't even have to, just use common sense... here let me help: What do you need in order to do some work outside on a dark night?

work on what? Do you have one shred of proof that it is a pipeline, if so what is it carrying and in what direction. When you have some facts than get back to me.

And how do you determine what the pipeline carries from 26,000 miles away. During this time there were major convoys, fuel and water pipelines being laid to support advancing troops.

"It's going right up to Iraq's oil fields," says the retired Air Force colonel from his home in Palm Bay.

That is not proof of anything.

Did you offer this kind of protest to President Bush when he claimed Iraq currently has WMDs and is an imminent threat to the United States?

Sure, I agree it's not decisive, but it's worth considering. Could it be a water pipeline? Doubtful... why send water to oil fields? Could it be a convoy of army vehicles? That's a good possibility. But they would travel on highways, and it's obvious there is not an existing highway here when he says: "Maybe I'm full of s---. Maybe all they're doing is building a highway to put in McDonald's and sell hamburgers. But why go that way?"

So you are saying that because some people believe that Pres. Bush lied it is now alright for them to lie and fabricate?

Got it.

IF you paid attention you would know that the army went thru the desert to avoid resistance and to maintain surprise. They did not take the highways or populated areas for a reason.

believe he lied, his lie was exposed.

So they shine a bright corridor of light to... maintain surprise?

So far it has only been proven it is bad intelligence. It has not however been proven that Bush lied about it knowing the intelligence was bad.

I think some of you are missing the boat. This guy has no particular axe to grind. But at the moment all he has is a theory based on available information. It's not like he's asking anybody to make summary judgements about Kuwait's intentions based on inadequate information. As he states plainly . . . maybe he is FOS . . . but only more information will help. Curiously, the State Dept cannot confirm NOR deny an oil pipeline project and DOD/Office of Reconstruction/or whatever it's called this month has not provided an explanation, either.

What cannot be denied:

1) extensive activity in northern Kuwait is extending in a STRAIGHT line from the end of Kuwait's north-south pipeline to the Iraqi oilfields.
2) it ain't a road . . . yet.
3) State has no explanation and DOD has yet to provide one (that explains current activity.
4) Our government has a responsibility to protect Iraqi oil from ALL foreign exploitation . . . except Halliburton/Bechtel, of course.;)

No, it has not been proven that Pres. Bush lied.

Now please answer the question, if some people believe that Pres.Bush lied is it alright for them now to lie and fabricate?

Time to put the collection plate together and get our own 1 meter satalite photos?

Maybe . . . but we should have full disclosure of what deals our country has made to secure cooperation.

Your question is frivolous. The satellite imagry is the evidence. While Bush campaigned in the UN to get approval to attack Iraq the American administration presented satellite images of a bunker with generic trucks driving by. They claimed the trucks were carrying WMDs to a hiding spot. It was good enough for them.

Check out the oil sales that are happening in iraq. I dont think this would hard to do. A pipeline into to kuwait built in the timeframe described is improbable at best.

U.S. Sen. Carl Levin of Michigan, ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said the latest White House statements "only reinforce the importance of an inquiry into why the information about the bogus uranium sales didn't reach the policymakers during 2002, and why, as late as the president's State of the Union address in January 2003, our policymakers were still using information which the intelligence community knew was almost certainly false."

If you were President and you were provided false information which you used to justify war against a country, and the truth of the intelligence was revealed later. Would you continue to have the same people supply you with intelligence? Otherwise, you knew it was a lie and are just trying to cover it up.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me that you don't want to answer my question.

Do you believe the intelligence was based solely on one satellite photo?

Almost certaintly false. It sounds like even the democrats cant pin this one down. Pair this with Blairs announcement today that their intelligence had iraq trying to buy uranium several times.
