status bar in Internet Explorer

I'm running XPpro and one thing I have about Internet explorer is that the status bar (at the bottom of the screen) seems to default off (meaning that you have to manually select it to see it)

any way to change that??

Mine went away and I cant remember how to get it back

OMG im having the same problem!!! WTF??? Even if I close all IE windows, open ONE up, turn status bar on, then exit and restart...IT WILL STILL COME BACK OFF!!!

Mebbe its all the pr0n sites I'm visiting...you think they write code on their pages to turn it off?

yeah, I've done that.
Then next time I start up IE, or open another window, it defaults off again

Of course its easy.....I'm just too lazy to remember.

Close all windows... open up windows explorer, and make sure you have the status bar enabled... Then go to Tools -> Folder Options, hit the View
tab and click "Apply to All Folders"

i read this thread and thank goodness someone knew.

shame on MS for making it so unintuitive. who would have known windows explorer was like IE??

Mine would default on but occasionally when I opened new windows it would randomly decide to not show it. Gonna do the folder option thing to hopefully fix it =P. Thanks Mucman =).
