1. Lately I've become rather obsessive about checking Boincstats to see where I'm ranking on the team. Anyone else check them daily to several times a day?

#25 overall and gaining ground with 7620 RAC.
#21 in Seti with 3553 RAC
#6 in GPUgrid with 3004 RAC

2. Isn't SETI tax deductible? Don't suppose I could deduct that part of the electricity bill? From what I've read you can't deduct the work units or computer hardware because work units don't have a value. Electricity does. Torn between the electricity bill and the stats, my main rig is running every other day. $18/month is hard to swallow when you've canceled cable TV and copper telephone to save $ :)
Due to owning my own business and my full time IT job, all my hardware comes off the top. Would be sweet to be able to write off the cost for power as well.

3. How do the older Phenom quads stack up for ppd compared to the C2Q and Xeons in SETI? Thinking about picking up a Phenom 9600 and cheap mobo as a server setup.

Congrats!!

About every active forum member here is addicted to the stats!

The Phenom 9600 is currently a very good solution: I bought one last week and installed it 2 days ago: 89.99? Phenom and a 45? mainboard, I had already the rest in spare parts.

It's hard to say how good it compares to a Q6600 for instance, I mainly run WorldCommunityGrid on it. You'll need to find someone running a stock cpu with the optimized apps and another one running a stock q6600 with the optimized apps. I have no idea how both optimized apps compare.

I would go here.

Sort (descending) on the rightmost column and find the CPUs you want to compare. A 9850 like mine is 95th. The 9600 would be on the next page.

I assume that per core for Average credit per CPU second?

but this isn't accurate since it's an average taken from optimized and not optimized pplications on that cpu

It moved up to 50h today... ;)

Hopefully it will gain a few more spots tomorrow!

Edit: Now at 48th place! (This is in the Top Hosts statistics.)

What do you run for a machine?

So my machines read as such:

T7250 2ghz
0.00535

e6750 2.66
0.007038

e7400 4.0
0.019961

They are all running optimized apps but the e7400 machine also has a GTX 260 on it. If the number takes that into account which would skew every CPU out there since some will have GPUs on them and some wont. Doubting the e7400 is a full 280% faster than the e6750. The difference is SSE3 to SSE4 and adding 1.3ghz.
