I am getting heavy static through my headphones for some games. I have no static when the sound is through speakers, and I can play music fien through my headphones. Only when games are launched, am I getting static through my headphones, even when sound it muted.

What might b causing this? I am using recent Realtek High Definition Audio.

The game causes the static ONLY when the game is running, ONLY through my headphones, and ONLY when the headphones are connected to the front panel.

Try narrowing down what the problem might be.

So, if you're not running the game and there's no static with the headphones through the front port, it's the game.
If there is static then it's either the headphones or the front panel. So... plug in the speakers to the front panel
If there's still static it's the front panel, if not it's the headphones.

Do that then post back.

That is quite common. I do not know the exact scientific explanation, but your headphones are picking up electronic noise from the mainboard or video card.

I do not know what to do about it.

You can solve this problem by purchasing an External DAC and running a digital signal from your PC to it and then connecting your Speakers/headphones to it. The reason there is so much static is as stated above, the DAC on your mobo/sound card picks up alot of electrical noise from the mobo or video card, i would guess the video card in your case since it only happens when gaming. Getting an external USB sound card might help aswell since then the DAC would be outside the case.
