Static sounds

...why do I hear static sounds, through my speakers, when I navigate with my USB Intellimouse??

Interesting, I'm experiencing a slight ringing tone that sounds like a 930hz test tone coming from my tweeters. This only starts ringing when windows opens.

I too have a usb intellimouse. Maybe the mouse is causing noise to my GTXP which is also hooked up to USB right next to it. Or I might have a driver conflict with my previous sound blaster drivers that show up as errors during bootup.

I hear this sound coming from a Dell L400 Laptop and not from a workstation.

...still baffling because I reinstalled drivers for the mouse and sound components; the "staticky" sound is still there when I move the mouse around.
Is it because of the voltage running through the USB...

Help....
