Static/Popping from speakers when second monitor is disabled?

I just recently set up dual monitors and am having static/popping from my speakers when I disable the second monitor but don't turn it off. If I disable the second monitor and power it off the popping goes away.

Any idea where to begin troubleshooting the issue?

Different plug didn't help. That was the first thing I tried. The static/popping stops instantly when the secondary monitor is powered off. I don't have any static/popping with both enabled and running.

Are you using a UPS or Surge Protector, Also is the housing electrical up to date?

Surge protector, and electrical in the house is new.
