When I restart windows, I sometimes get some sort of static noise through my speakers. Could this be a driver problem? Anyone having the problem too?

could be one of your drives or summat making some electronic noise and getting amplified thru the speakers. if there's no other signal there from the soundcard (or from the mb/cpu to the soundcard?) then other noises could be gettin' in. i used to have a drive that was noisy like that all the time, i could tell when it was really working hard cause i could hear it thru my speakers. weird stuff.

Its possible that its normal. I have an MX300. While windows is loading, each driver is loaded up one by one. When it comes to my soundcard driver, it checks for the soundcard, and if its there, initilizes it. Depending on how loud your speakers are set, you might actually be able to hear your soundcard "turning on". For me, it sounds like a small POP comming out of my speakers. I've never heard a Live! before, but i'm assuming thats what your hearing. As long as it doesn't last very long, and you don't hear it anywhere else, your fine.

This is indeed normal. I have the same event happen on my speakers when I have the volume turned up. Try adjusting the volume down in the speaker icon on your system tray. (lower right in Windows)
