static ip on wireless network?

That's an image of a static route you are trying to set up. That's not where you set up static IPs. It's probably under basic set up. You have a shot of that? I assume you are using non routable IPs for your internal network?

If yyou want the computer to have a Static IP you set it in the computer's TCP/IP Properties.

You change here from Auto. Obtain to Use the following IP, http://www.ezlan.net/network/altIP.jpg

You choose a number that is within the subnet of the Router but not within the DHCP range. Nothing has to be done in the Router itself.

What is a static route then? but unfortunatelly I dont even have a static ip, even though when I had just a modem, I had static ip option checked for my ip,and actual static ip I assume. But since i got wireless router maybe I can't have static ip anymore? How Can i check if i still have static ip?

See I want a static Ip so I can play nba 2007 with the guys from other computer( not the same network). I used to be able to play, but now I cant since I got router for small wireless network. Is there a way people can join my game servers?

are you trying to host a local network game or a internet game?

if it a internet game, you might have to port foward some ports that nba 2007 uses to your static ip.

Yeah I want to host internet game. Oh so you saying port forwarding will help. How do I know what ports certain games use such as nba?
