Static desktop cube?

After a prolonged bout with linux and screen resolutions, the culprit turned out to be my KVM interfering with Ubuntu's monitor detection. That said, I can finally give Ubuntu its due diligence in regards to a full OS switch.

My question today is on the cube, and increased productivity. More specifically, is there a way to show a static cube on a desktop, and mouse to spin the 4 workspaces, and double click my desired workspace to focus?

I have the cube working, but the sh>alt>mouse is cool for eye candy, but productivity wise, not worthwhile imo.

Is the static cube possible?

Thanks jmagg

open synaptic and find "compizconfg-settings-manager" and install it
it will place a new option under system > preferences > for desktop effects or something similar.

there are *a lot* of options for configuring how you can relate to the cube and multiple desktops and what kinds of views/previews you can use. play around and see what you like...because i cant remember what any of it is called to help you out more 😛

I thought to have the cube sitting on the desktop wallpaper, with 2 of the 4 sides(workspaces) showing.
