Yes, like I said, it's a holy derp alliance between conservatives and people who think porn degrades women. Religious vote in the bag, take 20-30% of the dumbest liberals along to maybe pass new laws. Conservatives and dumb liberals in bed together.
 
I remember back in the early 1990's when the religious right and certain feminists were opposed to a xxx domain for all porn that was proposed to keep it from the internet at large, think of it like zoning adult book stores and topless bars to only certain parts of the city/town but not banning them outright because of first amendment issues.

Whether it would have worked or not we will never know, but it's definitely game over today for those opposing porn.

And.... the number one partakers in porn.
They are caught in the public bathrooms, caught with the hookers, caught diddling the boys, caught beating the wife (and abuse should count as porn), caught paying off the hookers the boys the mistress.

Frankly, their banning of the porn for them just makes breaking their own law(s) more titillating. More exciting. More dangerous. And they apparently love the thrill of the danger.
So in the end, what they hope to achieve is to make their little closeted pornographic lives much more exciting.
And once exposed or caught in the act, god will forgive.
There will be tears, shame, repentance, etc etc. At least until the next time around..... 😉

I have a friend who is religious and he has a hard time not looking at porn when he is on the internet. After hearing complaining about that, I just tell him if don't you want to see porn, don't type stuff in a search engine that will get you porn. Yes it is that simple.

If we ban porn will we be saving the potential baby humans? Should every man be give the Congressional Medal of Potential Honor for Heroic Non-Self Abuse?
 
It's less of a fundie thing and more of an easy win. When faced with tough decisions about whether to go against the special interests that own their ass (cough, the NRA, cough) cowardly congressmen will choose the path of least resistance and go after something that doesn't have an army of well-funded lobbyists propping it up. The whores in Florida needed a win, needed to point to something to be able to say "See!! We protect the public interest" and couldn't bite the hand that feeds them since that hand was up their ass pulling the strings. They just chose the easiest target. Porn doesn't have strong backing and it gets easy headlines, so the congressmen get to claim a win without accomplishing anything or pissing off anyone that pays them.

Too bad the kids didn't riot and beat the shit out of the entire lot of them.
 
but Murder, Rape, stabbing, shooting, torturing, fighting, domestic assault and horrific violence that is shown on TV EVERY SINGLE NIGHT is perfectly fine. so go after violent video games and music as the source of the debauchery [eye roll]. But show sex on TV and people go bat shit crazy on how its harming the children

Not only are they prudes but they are borderline retarded. I remember this at the time and thought it made a ton of sense.

Humans are sexual animals. There is absolutely nothing wrong with porn. It harms nobody and brings pleasure to millions of humans. It is therefor a MORALLY GOOD thing.

Yeah, anticipated this. Some liberal would be all pedantic and bring up puberty. This is what I mean. One of my edits before the 3 minute mark included this and had a much better articulated contempt for this apologetic attitude. This is just a tribute. Liberals will say anything to excuse immoral behavior, as long as they can do so plausibly. It's like a jedi mind trick.
