Sounding more like a frustrated liberal with every post.
Hmm - let's analyze your post. If that made me sound like a frustrated liberal, then I guess you equate liberalism with (in order):

- intelligence
- success
- health
- real-life tasks that are more important then politics

... that's a pretty self-defeating attitude on your part.

We didn;t get attacked between 1993 and 2001.. I guess Clinton did a GREAT job then!

Oklahoma City Bombing

We are counting things outside the U.S.? Then already Bush failed.. London, Madrid, Hamas power, every day in Iraq... Iran with nukes...

Crawl back to your hole Meugy. I know it's a tough day for your bleeding heart liberals, but suck it up.

I think that it is you that needs to "Crawl back to your hole". First, debate the point. You stated that Bush would give another rousing speech and Meuge merely pointed out that very recently, he tried to give a "history book" speech that turned out making him looking like a complete idiot. Debate it or STFU.

Secondly, can't you and JRenz get your talking points right? The comment was that there wasn't a DOMESTIC terrorist attack. Not any attacks against American interests or personnel. If you want to play by those standards, there is a terrorist attack against Americans every single day in Iraq. Care to keep up with that line of reasoning.

Also, if you want to blame Clinton for the first WTC attack that took place ONE MONTH after he took office, then I guess Bush is completely, 100% responsible for something that took place eight months after he took office. Care to keep up with that line of reasoning either?

Grow up, get a clue or just go away.

That list sounded like a "pick the one that doesn't belong" question from a historically-heavy IQ test.

2002
June 14, Karachi, Pakistan: bomb exploded outside American consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, killing 12. Linked to al-Qaeda.

2003
May 12, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: suicide bombers killed 34, including 8 Americans, at housing compounds for Westerners. Al-Qaeda suspected.

2004
May 29?31, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: terrorists attack the offices of a Saudi oil company in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, take foreign oil workers hostage in a nearby residential compound, leaving 22 people dead including one American.

June 11?19, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: terrorists kidnap and execute Paul Johnson Jr., an American, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 2 other Americans and BBC cameraman killed by gun attacks.

Dec. 6, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: terrorists storm the U.S. consulate killing 5 consulate employees. 4 terrorists were killed by Saudi security.

2005
Nov. 9, Amman, Jordan: Suicide bombers hit 3 American hotels, Radisson, Grand Hyatt and Days Inn, in Amman Jordan, killing 57. Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility.

link

This argument is stupid. Neither Bush nor Clinton could ever do enough to prevent terrorist attacks. And unless the terrorists are in the habit of sharing their schedule and plans with the US no President will ever have the upper hand in this area. But I will argue that due to this War on Terror, there is growing concern that more terrorists are being recruited due to a very healthy hate of the west and the US in general. For that, Bush can take all the credit for.

sorry for the digression. Maybe another thread is in order, but didn't we cover this ground once before?

another link for those interested.

Is London, Madrid, Hamas in power, and Iran with Nukes a US property or interest?
I think you are comparing apples and oranges here.

All of the above were terrorist attacks on US property or interests.
All of the above you mentioned were terrorist attacks on properties not owned or part of the US or political situations.

You seem to think that this is a game.. like football with 2 opposite sides fighting to "win." If so many things weren't going wrong in the U.S., I would simply feel pity... but considering all that's going on, I think it's clear you are QUITE a whacko..

It's pretty obvious that the people we elect and are in office on BOTH sides feel this way.

And it is pretty obvious that there will always be the die hard, "hear no evil see no evil" 25-30% of the devoted and faithful that will defend and apologize for their party until the bitter end.

Yeah, that makes sense - a War on Americans.
Since he won (squeeked out) a 51% - 49 % win by pushing 'Hot Button' issues with the Evangelicals
it gives him the right to declare that those who didn't vote for him as his personal enemy, al la Nixon did.
Now since only about 25% of all eligible voters really did vote for him, and nearly half of all eligible voters
didn't bother to vote, he's going after the collective 75% of the population who aren't his devout followers.
That's really being a 'Uniter . . not a Divider'
Wow - what a overwhelming mandate.

And for kickers:

"Ms. Rice, what is the title of that document ?"

KindaSleezy: "Bin Laden Determined to Strike Inside the United States."

"Why was this threat ignored by this Administration ?"

KindaSleazy: "Well, they didn't attach their ticket stubs to the document, we didn't take them serious
or even have a clue as to where to look, with us all being busy trying to re-write the Constitution, and all . . . "

Actually I think that will be a major part of the speech... right after saying how great our economy is, and how well the war on terrorism is going.

It's going to be a scare for the history books: "... the terrorists are coming to get us... and to protect our democracy, we must sacrifice it"

Oh well, my bet is we will hear about Al-Queda and even Bin Laden will be dragged out of the closet and dusted off as evidence of the needed NSA wiretaps. It will all be legal of course, because since Bush ordered it, it's legal.

I'll be watching the Daily Show post-op, but not the actual speech. If I listen to him talk for more than 5 minutes at a time I get angry and start breaking things. Same with Rush.

It's said an awful lot, and STILL isn't said enough: George Walker Bush, 43rd President of the United States of America, is a moron.

They're not like other suicidal bombers that simply wrap themselves with bombs and walk into a market.

If he's been so successful, where are all the terrorists cells that have been busted and prosecuted?

Didn't we? What about the attack on the USS Cole? And the World Trade Center bombing was in February '93.

Oklahoma City?

It will be more of the same, that our union is strong and how we should stay the course and fight this war on terror. What I really want Bush to do is apologize for the Waco disaster. The federal government acted like terrorists during that siege that lasted weeks. I want the feds to apologize to Americans for that. That and many other actions.

I would also like Bush to defend his wiretapping plan. Seems to me, the government has really grown in the past 5 years.
