It's not really the point of this thread, but pre-pandemic before prices shot through the roof, at least groceries were affordable enough to not spend $100/bag. Housing/rent price increases were inevitable (and will only get worse) but that only matters if you need a new place to live. Day to day expenses have gone up though. Even if it's slowing from inflation decreasing (which I appreciate), shit's still expensive and last I check civilians don't get COLA or inflation adjustments, unless that's what we're calling raises now.
Real incomes are higher today than in 2019.

He needs to continue this energy to the podcasts.

Go on the Cooneys, Rogans, Stephen A., etc.

You need to get the young male vote.

They shouldn't run on a lie that people will see through by claiming the economy is great

Well maybe you should stop lying and claiming they are running on “the economy is great” and instead state the truth that the economy is doing better and is strong and getting stronger.

Or is ok when you lie?

Can you believe the amount of evil people are to think what this guy is saying is bad for our country?
You can show the people you talk to the video of Michael Johnson clapping like crazy for Israel and then sitting on his hands for getting aid to Gaza.

I'm sure they are, that hasn't brought prices down. I guess everyone in the nation should job hop right now to get in on that increased income right?
What aren’t you getting about real incomes being higher? That means for the average person they are richer.

To me it is pretty self evident that the average person being richer means the economy is better.

Just hearing a bunch of liberals in here talking about how amazing the economy is when working class people can't afford housing and I hope the Democrats don't do the same

sure. please point out where I was hypocritical. I will apologize profusely if you can.

edit: also, latte liberals are a democratic issue and we should avoid them at all costs

You attacked me for asking a question. You are your own worst enemy, right up there with the Bernie bros and you are too fucking stupid to see it. You are arguing against a straw man as I’ve never made any statements like the one you are accusing me of. If you want to call out eski for that go for it, you’d at least have a case.

The cluelessness of some people in this thread on the economy is astounding. Looks at gdp, inflation, unemployment level, gas prices, stock market and infrastructure improvements. Who would have thought a world wide pandemic would lead to inflation? I mean interrupting logistics and supply chain to that level surely couldn’t cause WORLD WIDE inflation issues could it?

Shakes head. Again, housing is a product of local zoning and NIMBY. That is where we fix that problem. 15 million jobs created by Biden versus negative job creation by Trump. On and on and on.

But my feels man. The brown people are coming to get me? Real purchasing power? What’s that? Sounds like Harry Potter shit man. You baby blood drinking libtards

What aren't you getting about housing being unaffordable meaning it's not an age of prosperity for working class people?

Working class people have experienced the highest real wage gains in the last couple years.

Generally speaking white collar workers haven’t seen much of any wage growth but blue collar workers most definitely have.

I thought this is what people wanted?

Uh, yes, you should go out and get your bag if your employer is screwing you over and not keeping your wage up with inflation. And with unemployment at near record lows, it's easier than ever to do that.

If real wages are higher, that should more than compensate for increased costs. I don't think the ferry is going to go back to costing a nickel any more.

We got Dark Brandon tonight. Finally waiting for Biden and Dems to punch those fucks hard and he did.

Fox News will be bitching about his aggressiveness after simping for Trump since 2016

Are you fucking joking? Your source is “liberals in here”? Who the fuck cares what anyone says here when it comes to affecting politics nationally or even at the state and local levels? Has Biden done what you are complaining about?

Your whole line of questioning proves my point, it's similar to your posting style, nothing new. You are trying to make points with questions, not actually trying to have a discussion. Maybe you don't realize it, you may have the self-awareness of a MAGAT, which I have seen on the Dem side.

The fact you have no self-awareness is bigly sad. It's great you vote Dem, but the lack of any self-awareness still sucks.

Also I was never a Bernie bro but whatever makes your wacky world work for you.

Right... but if what we're talking about is the minimum wage increasing, say (which I'm in full support of), okay you've got more money floating at the bottom, that's great. If in the middle though, wages are either depressed or flat, and everything's more expensive, how is that helpful? I'll note also that wage increases tend to only matter if you job hop, which many middle-class specialties cannot easily do, especially if they've got leeches (children) attached.

I'm curious - what's your solution to bring down housing costs? What do you dream that Democrats could be proposing or doing?

Incumbents usually run on the strength of the economy. Biden hasn't really started running yet since he doesn't have any primary challenge.
