I didn't watch SOTU this year. Disgusting enough what America has been reduced to, I don't need another reminder.

Not to mention his real thoughts have been available multiple times every day for the last two years, so we dont really need a bogus feel-good speech to inform us of anything factual.

I didn't watch it either. I figured it was a waste of my time and in my own little way, it was to protest against a guy who possesses every type of personality disorder that I abhor in a person.

From my earliest recollections of this detestable disgusting excuse of an human being, he miserably failed the "Would I let my daughter date this guy?" test and when he became our president he then failed my "Would I die on the field of battle to protect this horrible little man if he were in a fighting hole with me?" test. This coming from me as a retired service member with over 25 years on the job. Sure, as CIC I'd follow his orders, but as a fellow soldier, he'd be the guy that everyone knew would get them killed in order to save his own skin. These rare types of "very dangerous to be around shitheads" we all avoided like the plague. You just knew it deep down inside the moment they came into view. You fellow veterans know exactly what I mean.

From what I've gleaned from this thread, he delivered everything that I expected from him and like the both of you, I knew he'd mouth off something or other that would be in direct contrast to what he actually does for the little guy. His actions speak a whole lot louder than his less than worthless words.

I don't buy cheap shit with a worthless "lifetime guarantee" when I've already seen it crash and burn a thousand times before. Trump's words and actions fall into this category perfectly.

"So tonight, I call on the Congress to empower every Cabinet Secretary with the authority to reward good workers -- and to remove Federal employees who undermine the public trust or fail the American people."

That sounds a bit chilling.

So what’s the over/under on how long it takes the great uniter to be attacking people on Twitter cancelling out that entire part of their attempted message?

Sure. It's killing me that he can talk big talk and not walk big walk...and that doesn't count while he's walking to the golf cart after a swing.

Watched a clip this morning. Did Gutierrez have diarrhea or was he triggered? He's an emotional little fellow that's for sure.

And the Congressional Black Communists, they evidently aren't happy about African-American unemployment at the lowest level ever recorded. It's almost like they want people out of work and dependent on the .gov. Maybe they wanted to stand and cheer but feared a backlash from Pelosi.

Nothing like a white person telling everyone how black people should feel about X...

Translation: they want to kill civil service protections and bring back the political spoils system.

I was pretty jazzed up to watch this but it ended up being rather boring and flat. All she did was not deny everything that has been reported. Sure, that's obvious what's going on, but it was the whole interview.

meh.

Please, do tell us more how those ungrateful blacks should be thanking Trump for all he's done for them.

Definitely think the black caucus came off looking pretty bad after that.
Republicans don't give 2 shits about black unemployment unless they can use it for a talking point.

Trump: "Hey at least you black people have jobs thanks to me"

To use a metaphor I heard, you don't get to abuse your wife just because you bought her a house.

Just to illustrate your point. All Trump is doing is trying to take praise on the backs of a black community he has done nothing for beyond praising white supremacists as being good people.

Now looking at that tell me what Trump has done to help black unemployment other than to ride the wave that has been consistently declining the last 8 years.

As usual Trump manages to read off a teleprompter without wetting himself to relative praise which will surely be undone in a day or two when he does something more actually him. The bar is really fucking low people.

Legislatively there are huge problems on the horizon and no reconciliation hammer to push through partisan solutions. Nothing I heard made me think the prospects for resolution would improve. Also he spent like $4 trillion in initiatives that there is no money to pay for.

Only if you're a conspiracy theorist type.

I don't think it's Orwellian, but there's no doubt that with Trump this means "people who disagree with me." Federal employees are there to serve the public, not their department secretary or the President.
