Wow, it's funny how a $49 a month package jumps to $100 a month by the time you checkout.

Starz also has HD On Demand, and Early Premieres in HD. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Maybe on your local cable system, but not mine. Nor does Dish or DirecTV have Starz in HD.

I guess only on Charter and Comcast.

Stars has the best movies and selection of movies of any of the bundles.

Showtime is like HBO "Lite" in that it does some original programming, but nothing to the extent of HBO. And it does some movies too.

If you just want movies go Starz, if you want some of the programming, go Showtime.

Showtime has Bullsh!t, Dexter, and Weeds, which are some of the best shows on TV right now, IMO (Huff was up there too until it got cancelled).
Starz has better movies and better movie rotation though.

Tough choice. If you have Netflix or regularly rent DVDs, I'd go with Showtime.

Sho On Demand has given me an error - not available right now the last 3 times I've tried to watch Dexter, over a couple of weeks.

Every other channel works fine in On Demand :|

So for me, broken Sho = must wait for the rest of Dexter on DVD. Ironically, this makes me want to kill someone ;)

Starz has much better movies, but that wouldn't matter if you already had a Netflix account.

starz has better movies but has no original content, sho has cool shows like weeds, dexter, and brotherhood but not as good of a selection of movies IMO. That being said I would get sho for the original content and the ability to watch some good movies from time to time.

Weeds and Dexter are both awesome.

I've had the same problem! Interesting that it appears to be Showtime and not our local cable providers.

I had every cable channel imaginable for the past three months, and the only one I would've paid for had it not been free was Showtime.
