StarWars Website to Post Teaser on Monday

I'd like to be optimistic about this, but after the disappointment that was Ep I and the abortion that was Ep 2, it's hard to muster much enthusiasm. I wonder what made George Lucas lose his mind . . .

The only thing that is going to get me to watch this is seeing OB1 stab Anakin in the chest. Damn I hate Hayden..."I killed them, I killed them all"

I liked EP1&2. Granted they're nothing near the coolness of 4, 5, and 6, but they're still about Star Wars. 🙂 I can't wait to see EP3, then go on a six-movie binge some random night 😀

I don't even consider them as Star Wars. Lucas used to much creative license in these movies and didn't use the novel base at all. He may redeem himself somewhat if he actually makes some clone Jedi and uses them to battle the Jedi. Also, at the rate he is going he is going to leave a huge hole between eps 3 and 4.

I thought the "novel base" consisted of novelizations of the first three movies (i.e., Eps 4-6), which were made from original screenplays, then whatever yarns people spun off from them. AFAIK (and I was a Star Wars fanatic as a kid), the movies predated the novels, and as the creator of the franchise he is clearly free to ignore the novels (although they couldn't possibly be as dreadful as what passed for a screenplay in Ep 2 - I literally don't know that I have EVER seen a worse movie, and I've seen many hundreds).

First off all the books (at least 60) were all ok'ed by Lucas. Second eps 1 - 3 were not written when eps 4 was, not even close. In fact Lucas didn't even write 5 or 6 by himself. Hell, 4 wasn't even call eps 4 until a re-release. And eps 5 wasn't originally going to be empire strikes back, it was going to be based off the first Star Wars novel (I can't remember the name of it). Lucas is just trying to take credit for other people's work and has too much of an ego to ask for help. One call to Timothy Zahn would have resulted in a way better movie. If it wasn't for Zahn there wouldn't have been anymore Star Wars novels. It was the Trawn books that brought Star Wars literature back from the dead.

Looking forward to the teaser....of course Ep1 and 2 weren't as good as the originals...that's really tough to do with prequels and sequels...but love the whole hype about it anyway.

Hopefully Lucas makes it about 3 hours+ and doesn't rush things like he did in EP1 and 2.

If anyone gets it leaked...PM or email me 😀

^^^^^

Bottom line is all of this S.W. stuff is still Lucas' property, his creation, and his story. He can, and will, do whatever he pleases with it, and you can accept it and deal with it or cry and moan about it.
