StarWars Battlefront gameplay debut April 17th

I downloaded it and only played for a few minutes in singleplayer Survival mode. It seemed fun enough, very Star Wars-y, but the gameplay also felt very generic. Now, granted, that's only 5 minutes of play outside of multiplayer, so hardly a fair representation. I'll try it more over the weekend and see how I feel. I'm kind of on the fence at this point; I can see it capturing some of that nostalgia for the original trilogy, but I could also see it becoming quickly boring.

I can't get the game to load. Crashes on startup with some DirectX error that says my video card has been physically removed from the system and to install the latest drivers. I have the latest drivers. 2GB 6950.

Tried reinstalling latest drivers but no luck. Uninstalled the game.

The lack of a server browser is killing this for me. Got into a match were we were getting one shot from across the map and kept getting lumped into the same match multiple times in a row. At least with BF4, I could jump on a server with people I trusted.

I played about 2 hours last night. I had already played the Alpha so I knew what to expect. I'll agree with the comment above that it's very CODish. So that could be good or bad. You can tell the game play is geared up more for consoles than PC. I want to buy it. I love Star Wars, and I really love the Hero power-up, but I don't know if it's worth 60 dollars. I can see it getting old after a month or so.

Not a Star Wars or multiplayer fan, but played the Tatooine or whatever single player thing and the game is the best looking I've seen.

Animations, particle effects, textures, etc. Taken as a whole of course.

Started up ok, but after hitting Enter to go to the next screen, it crashed on me. For some reason the newest beta driers crashed too and wouldn't install. First time this has happened to me. No other game has issues on my PC. My card is old however, but still runs everything else pretty well.

Played it on my PS4 just to play it, but I REALLY detest playing FPS's on console. Waiting on Hori's kb+mouse for PS4... supposed to be out this month. Just wanted to get a feel for it to decide if I wanted to buy it for my PC after getting quirks fixed. I could see it as fun, but not putting in near as much time as BF4.

The game looks good, but I might need to mess around with settings, because I had everything on Ultra and I was getting all sorts of smearing and artifacting from the FXAA implementation (not to mention plenty of jagged edges). Kind of ruined the overall look for me.

This game is in a way worse spot than bf4 was on release. Felt very glitchy. Lots of hitches in odd spots like menus, etc. Balance is poor. On one hand everyone has a sniper rifle which means you get picked off at range beyond visible often. On the other there is the pistol which can't hit dick at more than point blank range. The heavy blaster is way more powerful than the earlier weapons. I hate how the vehicles seem just randomly scattered over the map. Xwing in some random crater? Great. I don't mind finding random caches of weapons, but vehicles just doesn't seem right. Trying to join on a friend is annoying too. Got on the same server, but you can't just become their partner, you have to get them to accept which apparently is easily missed in game. Low squad count, no server browser, glitchy ill-balanced mess right now. If I didn't know this was out in a month I'd guess this was an alpha build. Its going to take a few patches to make this right.

Exactly when it crashes for me as well. I get a directX error about my video card. I have a 2GB 6950 and latest drivers. Everything else on my PC works great.

What GPU do you have?

6850, same thing.

I had planned on upgrading, just haven't gotten around to it because of work. I am was supposed to deploy again in January and didn't want to do it just to have it sit for a year like I did after I upgraded it last time. GPU is the only thing that is really sub par anymore.

Using drivers released on 7/29/15. Beta ones from 9/30/15 will not install.

I tried again this afternoon. Too much run & gun COD style play for my tastes. I predict this will have huge console sales.
Not a bad game just too fast and too linear. I like the spawn with friend/teammate option but unless you're with a real friend on teamspeak its useless because you cannot communicate.
Ran fine on my machine however I don't know the fps but it appeared fine

Zero difference in aim between still ADS and 3rd person hipfire, running around like a crazy person. Yikes. All the gunplay depth of a spill on your kitchen counter.

There's some hidden values the author even states it. The spread increases on subsequent shot. I know for a fact in aimed/scope mode, it spreads much less than hip firing on auto.

I like it and I hope they will have a 64 map/game mode.

The AT Map feels just right with 40.

still a no go. this time I get a couple screen flickers like it was going through a loading screen then a stationary one, but all looking black to me.

well after screwing around with my video drivers a bit, I got it running. I was pretty excited about a star wars shooter but after playing for a couple hours I'm pretty sure I won't be buying it.

It looks pretty and has the big gimmick of being Star Wars, but I don't think I'll be buying this at launch for full price. Actually had it preordered for like 40 bucks through some coupon, but I can refund the preorder. Just feels like there's not much there. So their beta kinda backfired on them in my case.

I'll wait for a sale down the line, and besides I'll be busy playing Fallout anyway! It would just be collecting dust in my Origin library.
