Starved North Koreans eating grass to survive

Uh, wasn't CNN saying the same thing about the Afghani's like 6 months ago? That they were eating grass?

That's a good question. I don't know anything about the population, but if the amount that is being sent isn't enough, charaties should hit people up for more. The problem is making sure that they get it. I have no idea how to do that, I'm sure that there is someone in the governemnt who could address that problem.

I would have no problem donating money to the charity, if I knew that they would get 100%.
 
I've heard that the N. Korean governemnt stored the donated food for the military instead of handing out the food to the civilian population.

I don't believe the problem is that they are not receiving enough food aid, but, as you said, I don't think the food is being properly distributed.
 
I wouldnt be surprised if the food will never reach the small people in need, unless you have Americans running the red cross in there passing out the food.

Adding food in a low birth and low morality suituation causes a high birth , low morality situation. Basically what you said freebee, just in a nicer way.
 
I think the fattest country in the world (guess who?) can give these starving people some food 😉. This is yet another Communist/dictatorship government running its country into the ground, why people never learn is beyond me.

100,000 tons of grain should feed a million people for a year. You could give them a million tons of grain and they'd still starve. Kim Jong Il keeps it that way.
 
This doesn't suprise me. A few months ago i posted an article about how North Korean refugees were fleeing by the thousands to seek a "better life" as slave laborers in what used to be work camps for political prisoners in the former Soviet Union. You've got to be coming from a really, truly f#cked up place to be lined up by the hundreds to actively seek out a job in an old Soviet gulag. 🙁

grass is bad for you. causes all sorts of intestinal problems.

the french peasants were eating grass just before the revolution. a bit easier to overthrow a gov't back then. i wonder if the average nk army grunt would shoot at his own people? if the army wanted to dig in there it would be almost impossible to dig them out.
