Hi, i recently built my new computer, which i love, but it has a problem when starting up.

I turn it on and the fans run but the cpu led on the motherboard is red. Then it shuts down and turns on again normally. Now it works 100% apart from the startup issue.

Heres some of the parts:

Gainward GeForce GTX 460 768MB PhysX

Intel Core™ i5 Quad Processor i5-760

ASUS P7P55D-E, P55, Socket-1156

Crucial RealSSD C300 2,5" 64GB

Corsair TX 650W PSU

Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz 4GB CL9

Do you know what might cause this issue? Im sure the cpu is inserted correctly, and as i said it works perfectly apart from the startup.

I now tested it with only 1 ram module+cpu+video card and its the same problem, is this just the way the mobo is designed?

No, the mobo should not be exhibiting this behavior.

Is the BIOS up to date?

The mobo may be faulty; the "cpu led on the motherboard is red" indicates that there is an issue in the CPU/mobo interface.

I now updated the bios as you said and so far it seems to have solved to issue, it now starts up right away.

I didnt really think about the bios because the mobo is so new, so i assumed the bios version would be very new aswell. But i updated to the newest bios version which is 3 months newer than the old one.

I will report back if i experience more problems, but so far consider it solved.

Thanks!
