Startup Develops Artificial Intelligence Accelerator Chip

I think its just another flake trying to get rich off of gamers.... First PhysX... then the *dun dun dunnnnn* Killer NIC, and now this... do they think we are stupid or something? Lemme guess, they are writing their own API too....

A gimmick, probably, because the limitations of AI these days have more to do with the algorithms written for it than with the hardware that powers it.

Agreed. Gimmicky. AI is in no way consistent and different AI would be drastically different from game to game. Not like physics which is essentially trying to implement the same algorithms. AI as it stands today is the PERFECT application for a general purpose CPU.

Definitely - I'd much prefer to see some excellent AI libraries instead of a silly card. Maybe they could include Chessmaster 64,000 with the card 😀
