I just started a computer mod webstore with my friend. Took a bit of capital to get our initial products, but we already have a few large customers that we'll be selling to regularly. You just need to find something that has a good market these days, and try to make yourself stand out.

While I have a computer background, I've really not considered a computer-based business very seriously. From what I can see, at best you're looking at a niche market with a short burst of activity before interest fades or being overrun by a larger vendor. The margins have fallen pretty seriously over the past 2-3 years, and it's really hard (if not impossible) to compete against a large company and the volume-buying discounts they get. Kind of like opening a convenience store in a WalMart parking lot.
