Is a winnie 3000+ for $155 good? I don't want the price to go down in a few weeks, considering that I won't even be able to FULLY build the machine for about 2-3 weeks. . . but you gotta start somewhere . . . lol

Yeah I'm also looking at building. And that price is really good, it wont get much cheaper. The higher end ones will, but thats about as low as you'll see it for quite some time.

take a look at my thread please ;)

but ya im considering nearly the exact same thing. dont worry man.. thats a killer price on the 90nm part for retail.

you simply cannot go wrong with that part.

now my post, (here in gen hardware).. I'm more confused about.

but 3000+ A64s are GOLDEN, overclockable.. AWESOME price. can't beat it.
if you burn it up, who cares! and if you dont burn it up, you have extra cash when dual core comes!

seriously, you cant go wrong.

and if the price does drop, it wont be much at all. nothing you'll lose sleep over.

how could it drop much? its at a measly $155?

i'm on my way to building my first computer :)

edit: housecat, you're right, if it drops in price, it will probably only be $5 or something . . .

3000+ newcastles s754 are $146, so . . . yeah

Congrats man!

My first true build was a Athlon 700, and even though it was challenging at times.. I learned alot and it was really cool getting a really fast system for really cheap.

if they did, dell would rock.

until then, its just "OK" for those too scared to build.

ive seen some decent deals come out of dell, but not often
