I want to make my first character the merchant class. Which class makes the most money? Is it the Droid Engineer?

Also, any tips or warnings about this game would be useful.

Here's a warning: pick another MMORPG :)

Have you even played it recently? It has changed quite a bit for the better IMHO.

Are the forums and in game chat no longer full of people telling you soe sucks and pre(insert choice of acronym) game was great while it sucks now.

I've read that the Weaponsmith profession is incapable of making high-level weapons that are competitive with loot weapons. This may change in a future patch, but the rate of publishes is not very high.

You should ask this question on the official forums - you can find specific profession message boards there.

I haven't visited the forums, but I haven't seen anything like that in game. I do see a decent amount of gold spammers however, but I just /addignore them..

The game is a lot better now than it was a year ago. The NGE isn't that bad actually now that they have fixed a lot of bugs and allowed you to map keys. The 2 expansions of content is really nice.

However, if you are playing a merchant as your first character to make money then the engineer will make you money up front because you can create swoop speeders. However, in the end the Munitions will make you the most money because armorsmith can make you tons of cash.

Domestic goons on the Tailor track can make you nice money too since you can make slotted clothing. They all do something different in the powerup creation so if that is the way you want to go then discover that. You can always respec to another trade class without loosing your skillpoints.

How big is the patch? I've been downloading it for 24 hours already and it says there's 6 hours left.
