Starting a new build

Would like to do a i7 or quad with a gigabyte mobo or sim. with 6 gigs or more ram
and a recent vid card(but not for gaming per say)a dvd drive and one or more hd/drvs
so what would be a good pwr supply from new egg ? I have beau coup cases/and other parts , but from 2004 or older so this is for a new build.Help ? I have a 400 watt antec, it seems flakey and I would like something better (it was on a p4 rig).

Could be anywhere from:
$45 shipped Antec Earthwatts 380w PSU, 27A on the combined 12v rails
$100 - $20 MIR = $80 Corsair 650tx PSU, 52A on the single 12v rail

For any single GPU out on the market the 52A on the 12v rail Corsair 650tx will do, but without a GPU selected or a budget, I'm just guessing at what you really need/afford.
