Started w/ Armor LCS and now I'm switching cases

So I started my watercooling system adventure w/ a standard thermal take armor LCS combo that served me well for about a year +. Now I've added at dtek fusion v2 block, an ek x-48 chipset block and a 4890 LCS model from powercolor. Finally, it's become apparanet that I have to upgrade the pump/res/rad that came w/ the case. I've ordered the MCR320-QP combo with the Medium yate loons that put out 70.5cfm and a XPSC 500 ml drive bay resevoir.

I'm pretty sure that when the radiator gets here it won't fit well in the armor chassis. I am looking for a new case that anybody can recommend that will fit a 3*120 radiator or a suggestion on how to mod my current case to fit it. Any suggestions on a case that will accomodate the radiator or a semi-easy mod of the thermaltake armor case is appreciated.

Basic flames that I should have just spent more money up front and froget about the LCS combo are not appreciated as I have learned a good bit with hands on experience with a water cooling system, expanded and had a generally good experience. I am at the point where the system does need to be upgraded an construtctive criticism is welcome.

Thanks all.

also a plus but not mandatory, any chassis that has a PSU slot at the base of the case. If there's an older chassis w/ a PSU slot on the top but tons of space at the base for the radiator, I'm all for it.

Thanks again.

for a Case I would like to stay below $150 if possible, for a mod it would be that or less. If it's not then I'll just do what I have to

might be a tight fit... you might needd to do some modding.

I'm hope not too much. The product page states "Dual or triple 120mm radiator can be mounted inside the top of the casing (radiator is optional)." They didn't include an astrix but rather include radiator mounting brackets.

Are there any other cases, that are clearly would support a 3*120mm at under $200?

Obviously from my defensive statements, I'm leaning toward this case but I am welcome to other suggested cases or mods as I need to switch cases to fit the larger rad. I do need to make a purchase in the next week or so.

I have that case. As a default config, the top has 2 230mm fans. But you can replace them with 3 120mm fans instead, so I would definitely think you could make it work. There's plenty of clearance from the top of the case to the top of the mobo as well since you can also put another PS up there. There is a lot of room, and the 840 is very wide as well.

what if you stacked 2 MCR220's in the front bay? and used the top 3 bays?

This is keeping your armor.. instead of getting a new case, you dump it into new H2o gear?

I hadn't thought of stacking them yet. I'll see what the space allows tonight when I get home.

150 dollars can get yo a ton of new toys for h2o

😛

Ok. I'm going w/ the CM ATCS 840. Stacking 2*120 raditors would work but the MoBo is set too to the chassis and I foresee problems if I want to H20 crossfire and where the radiator is positioned. I see some kink in my line happening if I go that route and because I keep upgrading what I have I know I will end up there at some point.

Plus the removable mobo tray and exposed underside of the CPU socket to exchange CPU mounting hardware is just too delicious. Basically, there are so many good features and an upgraded case at some point is inevitable.

Thanks for the Aigomorla and Piano Man.

Are you running the mid or full tower? I purchased the 760i Bigwater early on for my full tower Armor Plus VH6000BWS, didn't take long to realize I wanted to WC more components, just recently converted to 1/2". Since then I've added two Swiftech 220 rads, one internal the other external with a rad box, see link below. The case is bottom vented so I put the 2nd 220 rad there. The rad box should work with a 320 rad on a full tower, have doubts about a mid.
