Started using on board sound, but no volume control panel

I've been having some sound related issues, so I decided to go back to my on board sound to see if that helped.
I uninstalled my sound card drivers, shut down and removed my sound card. I changed the BIOS to enavle onboard sound, started up and installed the latest Realtek audio drivers (dated 5/17/05). Rebooted and the sound is fine, games and videos all play fine, but then I tried using Teamspeak.

I can't get Teamspeak to work correctly, and I think its because I need adjust the microphone settings in the volume control. Problem is that when I go to Start/programs.../volume control, it pops up a box that says:
"There is no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panle, click Printers and other Hardware, and then click Add hardware."
So I go to Add Hardware, but there is no mixer. There is the Realtek Audio, but it says its working properly.

How do I get to the damn volume control?
Also, when I go to Control Panel/Sounds and Audio Devices, in the Volume tab it just shows "No Audio Device".

Try downloading the drivers from your motherboard manufacture instead of realtech directly. It may have to do with their implementation.

That's my best guess :)

Good luck...

Thanks, but that is where I got them. I just tried an earlier set, but it's still the same.

Get the new nforce drivers from nvidia and install the audioa portion, should install nvmixer, and allow you to control devices from that.

I did that and installed the nvmixer, but when I open it it says that there is no audio device installed.
I think I might just have to reformat and start all over because something apparently has gotten corrupted, yet I have no idea what it could be.

Did you instlal the driver components as well? Even though you may not have nvidia soundstorm audio, the nvidia drivers will handle the Realtek Codec.

When I get home tonight, I will wipe all my hardware drivers clean and reinstall them all.
If that doesn't work, I will be completely out of ideas.

Uninstalled Chipset, VC, and sound drivers. Ran driver cleaner, reinstalled drivers and everything is the same.

I guess I'll just buy a new sound card and then reformat. I guess that should fvckin work. :(
