Using NotePad, open, in no particular order, C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT, C:\CONFIG.SYS, and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.INI. Now, assuming you're a smart person, you ought to be able to figure out, from looking through them, which commands belong to McAfee VirusScan and which do not. Before you edit, save a copy of all three files and then delete the commands for McAfee. IF THIS DOES NOT WORK WHEN YOU RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, REPLACE THE EDITED FILES WITH THE BACKUPS
