I recently killed my old CPU by accident and I bought a new one.

This one:

The one I broke was a Northwood 3.06GHz Socket 478

When I installed the new CPU it started up normally and it told me to go to I think "Soft CPU" something in BIOS. I was doing something else so I wasn't fast enough. Whenever I try to start up my computer it won't start up anymore.

try clearing your cmos on your motherboard. Read the manual to find out how to reset the cmos and take the battery out.
