start menu size

Hi,

I just reinstalled my copy of Windows and now when I want to change the start menu size, it's sorta locked to a grid. I used to be able to change it and have 2 icons in the system tray but now its either one or 3.

How do I change this ?

Hope someone can solve this...
 
I already unlocked it and it can resize but the size is sorta set to a certain grid.. like I said, either the size of 1 icon in the system tray or 3..
