I think that it will be a store that sells cell phones and GPS for cars; I want to be in that branch.

1. I have owned my own business for 10 years. It was EXTREMELY Taxing on my marriage and family during the early years. I would not recommend starting your own business if your family is still young or you are planning on having one in the near future.

2. CASH BASED BUSINESS!!!

My customers pay in check form and dayum is it hard to get the $$$ outta there :)
Uncle Sam can be a real bastard to the small business owner! The system is NOT geared for your benefit.

Good Luck with it!!

Hey Chico,

In this country, first ju gotta maka da money. Den ju getta da power. DEN ju getta de woman!

With de right woman by jour side, ju will be unstoppable!

I am Tony Montana, political refugee.

edit: And to answer your question, focus on something that makes money and is within your capital structure. Ebay is a good first start. Or put your mad web skillz to work.

You should open up a karoake bar.

Or open up a store that has lots of those sticker photo booths.

I'll post something useful for a change: http://www.paulgraham.com/articles.html
I've read nearly all of his articles since last year. Very interesting, very truthful and you can learn a lot. I'd like to go the startup route after I graduate, though I don't know if it'll happen. Getting a job and working for someone else is infinitely easier, and you don't have to keep living like a starving student...

u gotta figure out exactly ...EXACTLY what you want to do and write a business plan.

I want to deal with cell phones and stuff isnt going to cut it. You also have to realize if doing that is going to make you any profit. Can you compete with the Circiut city next door? sure they coudlnt tell you the diffrence between a mini fridge and ATX case...but they beat you on price and marketing, so why come to your store?

First suggestion: Get a job in a business similar to the type of biz you want to own. Learn how everything works. (Vendors, margins, marketing, securing lines, etc)
