starship troopers 3.....

The first one was really good imo. Didn't even know there was a second one, but I can assume based on your post that it probably sucked.
 
First one was good, especially if you understood the themes Heinelan had in his book - the guns, bugs, boobs, etc... were really secondary to the exposition of life in a future fascist state (for me at least 😉 )

If they can go back to that universe and expand on differences between 'civilians' and 'citizens' to really delve into what the political/social message was in the book and introduce some more guns, bugs, and boobs it could turn out decent.

Then again, it could be like ST2 - horror/slasher movie set in a space outpost or something? bleh

The second one is so bad the guy at Blockbuster refused to rent it to us.
 
the 2nd movie was straight to DVD...

looks like this one is too seeing as how it isn't supposed to be released yet, however there are many who talk as if they've already seen it (ie its on the internet for download somewhere 😛)

No, it was much worse. IMO, it is an outsider for the Worst Movie in the World award.
 
I just checked it out on imdb and it looks a whole lot better than the second movie.
The preview has the feel of the first movie.
Hope to se T'pol from Enterprise in a little R rated action!
 
The thing about the second one that pissed me off the most, was the effects. Their guns looked like blinking flashlights when they fired, it was all fake CGI crap, nothing at all like the first one.
