they made ST2, saw it one night at 4am on HBO (yes, it is that bad, they have to play it at 4AM). It was horrible, oh god, horrible (and thats nice), I watch all of 45 minutes of it, threw up a little in my mouth, and then turn on some skinamax. ST1 was great, ST2 blows, ST3, with the previews, god help us

they made a Starship troopers 2????????????????

Yes. It was more like a bad rip-off of a John Carpenter bunker movie though (think The Thing, Ghosts of Mars, Assault on Precinct 13). Did not have Casper Van Dien. Did not have battlesuits. And sucked badly.

but did it have bewbies?

I enjoyed the first one.
I am looking forward to seeing Jolene Blalock.
On a trivia note, Jolene was supposed to be in Lost flashback. They filmed it but never aired it, though they may at some later date.
I kind of like the corny trailer for 2, has the same corny flavor of the first movie.

just in case any of you don't know, there is a book

I  Robert A. Heinlein

Yes there is and any resemblance between that fine work and the movies bearing its title are purely coincidental.

So so true.

At least the trailer for 3 looks like its actually similar to the Starship Troopers style action of part 1.

Starship Troopers 2 was totally lame. It was like they just made a really really bad horror movie, realized it sucked, and decided to just retrofit it with a Starship Troopers theme in hopes that some people might actually watch it due to the name alone. In fact, I'm convinced thats what happened, as there is no way after Starship Troopers 1 that you'd write part 2 as a logical sequel to it.

This looks pretty stupid. You'd think they would make a serious, real attempt at a sequel, but no...

Would anyone take it seriously after ST2?

This is the only good production to come out of Starship Troopers (although the first movie was pretty kickass), and it got canceled on a HUGE cliff hanger because Sony was too retarded to air it at the right time (they aired a kid's show at 6-7 am WTF.). :|

It's a kid's show (I watched it in elementary school), but one of the highest quality out there. It's still pretty enjoyable as an adult, and not just for nostaliga's sake.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0190198/

It was a good show, I just finished watching it last wek.

the show was cool, but the movies were absolute trash. they did a disservice to the book imo. and probably gave the book a bad rep.

This is one of those movies which is supposed to have ridiculous low quality which in itself makes it that much more entertaining. I will love it. Just make sure you are expecting something stupid that is pretending to be a somewhat serious action film.

No. Denise Richards never went topless. It was the other chic that played Diz.

Just read the book. It's short, and way better than any crap that has been put on screen based off of it. The message is mostly lost in the transition to the big screen sadly :(

let's just pretend that ST2 never existed - so is ST3 lookin' more along the lines of ST1?
